Former Pro Cyclist Saul Raisin Joins TriSoldier as Cycling Advisor

Saul Raisin brings a wealth of cycling knowledge to the TriSoldier Project.  At twenty-three, Saul had already proven himself as one of America’s most promising road cyclists. The Dalton, Georgia native signed a pro contract with the French pro cycling team, Crédit Agricole, and had already won the Best Young Rider jersey at the Tour of Georgia.  He also won the toughest climbing stage of the Tour of Langkawi, turned in the strongest American performance at the 2006 World Championships, and captured ninth place overall at the incredibly difficult and prestigious Tour of Germany.

Saul was forced to retire from racing due to a traumatic brain injury suffered in a crash while completing in Stage One of the Circuit de la Sarthe in 2006. Saul is now focusing on triathlon and the organization he formed to help others with brain injuries, Raisin Hope.

Unfortunately, many soldiers in the 21st century have suffered traumatic brain injury in Afghanistan and Iraq, but the partnership between Saul and the TriSoldier Project promises to further enhance our ability to help these disabled veterans.

Newton Running Becomes Official Shoe Supplier For TriSoldier Project

Through the generosity of Newton Running, we are able to provide running shoes to our athletes and volunteer coaches for the 2011 season.

Run barefoot to discover your optimal running form. You’ll discover immediately that when you run barefoot, you’re not landing on your heels. Instead you are landing on your midfoot/forefoot.

Landing on your midfoot/forefoot is the most natural way to run. It is also the fastest and most efficient way to run. Newton Running shoes are the only shoes that were developed specifically for Natural Running.
